Territorial Army
War began early for us, the 鈥淭erriers鈥, as we went to camp on the
9th August 1939. I cannot remember seeing so many Chepstow folk lining the streets clapping and cheering as we marched to the station.
We were 453, The Chepstow 1/12th Company? 1st Rifle Battalion of The Monmouthshire Regiment T.A., later to become the 68th Searchlight Regiment Royal Artillery.
Incidentally 25 years within four days of the date for the 1914-1918 1st Battalion
