I was working and Harry (my future husband) was there.
I saw a friend of Harry's and had a day off work to see him, but when I got there Hary had gone for a drink.
At the camp where he was, the sargant said I could stay for a few days.
I went and there were houses, one belonging to a teacher and I stopped there.
I was frightened and daren't move.
I had a day to see Harry though and everyone was nice.
I was at work for 33 years - fittings for electrics.
My father was a miner and he called me 'Kitty' - he was lovely.
The rich people would let us have jam. It was lovely. There was sugar on top.
I loved dried egg.
We scrambled it.
We had 9 children in the family.
There was Bill, Harry, Mick, Arthur, Florance, Cathleen, Beatrice and Catherine.
