Margarie can recall times when she and a couple of friends walked over the Craigantlet hills and down into Holywood.

There was a shopkeeper who would have taken the next month's sweet coupons during the rationing. It was a long way to go for an ice-cream and some sweets but Margarie says treats were treats in those days.
