I was 18. I went to the dancing in Paisley. I lived in Barrhead and sometimes we had to walk home, even in the blackouts.
I remember standing in the queues, it you saw a que you joined in, it did not matter what it was for.
We had a POW- a German. He worked on the farm. He didn't say much, but he seemed nice. He just got on with his work.
I got married during the War. My husband was stationed in Linconshire. I went down, we got married, and he was posted abroad. He was in the artillary and went to the Anzio Beach. We knew at home that was a bad area. He took Malaria when he was there. He got sent back to his own unit in Italy.
