This contribution to People鈥檚 War was received by the Action Desk at 大象传媒 Radio Norfolk and submitted to the website with the permission and on behalf Phyllis Smith

I lived at Little Bradley, which had once been a private Estate and there was a long lane which had a round house at the top and gates. Half way along the lane was a pill box and a searchlight in the adjoining field. One nice day in the summer of 鈥42, I think it was, I was walking along this lane wearing a bright yellow dress; there was a plane overhead. I didn鈥檛 notice that it was a German plane firing at the searchlight until the lads at the searchlight shouted 鈥淕et under cover鈥.
