Sitting casualties
鈥淚 had the use of a car during the war in connection with a catering company I
was running in Dover. I was instructed however that I could only get permission to run the car if I were prepared to pick up what were described as 鈥渟itting casualties.鈥 This story was considered very funny in pubs and clubs because none of us had ever heard of 鈥渟itting casualties鈥. Like other people I had never heard of 鈥渟itting casualties.鈥 Casualties were either laid out or 鈥渞unning like Hell.鈥
