My friends mother was rather a large lady - Mrs Murray. Her neighbour came along the road and told her to get inside as there was going to be another air-raid. Another lady came down the street so Mrs Murray shouted to her to hurry up about her business as there was going to be an air-raid, The lady was on her way to a hospital appountment at Longton Cottage Hospital - so when she got there she told them to be quick because there was going to be an air-raid.The hospital staff alerted the police, the police went and banged on Mrs Murrays door demanding to know how she knew there was going to be an air-raid before anyone else. Poor woman nearly had a heart attatck !
