As children we treated some of the war as a game like when they used Louth for a great big mock battle area. The local cattle market was the target for an air attack. The home guard were given rolled up sand bags to represent hand grenades. We got hold of a lot of those, climbed onto the pig market roof where we could lob them into bren gun carriers. Result: the road blocked by us putting them out of the mock battle
