Entertainment
…the only thing I never liked about those dances because I mean I wasn't that well averse to dancing I just picked it up was that you had three dances which consisted of a Waltz, a Foxtrot and a Quickstep now when you a chap came up to you like you were sitting there somebody came up to you and asked may I have this dance I didn't realise but you have to have the three dances and this particular chap that picked me up on the dance floor had this very you know sort of spiv moustache that came off on the side of my cheek when he pressed his cheek next to me …so therefore I said I've got to sit down and then somebody else came up to me which was quite nice and I had a dance with him but this chap reported me to the M.C. and ! I got slung out the Dance Hall because I never did the three dances with him … so off I went with his moustache on the side of my cheek and a red face all good experience.

V.E. Day
Well we took our piano out into into the steet cos we had a street party and …and as we were dancing in the street I saw this gorgeous man he really was I mean as I say I was young I looked God look at him and he had some beautiful women on his either arm you know really lovely women but the thing it was Jack Buchanan the dancer and he had two actresses on his arm and he stood there beautiful cigarette holder in his mouth and he just stood there smiling at all of us dancing around.
