He was only a little boy then and now he was old but he remembered it as though it was yesterday. The air raid sirens had suddenly sounded he had grabbed his little sister and ran to the only hope he had the anderson shelter. Where was his mother? Oh no she had went to get there weekly ration. Tommy trembled but he had to be brave for his little sister. He put on a brave face not hearing the uproar outside. Then they stopped the air raid sirens had stopped. Tommy peeped outside. There on the floor was his mother dead. How could a simple walk to the shops be your last walk ? Tommy shouted luckily a neighbour was also outside his anderson shelter and he came to see Tommy. The neighbour felt sorry for them and voulentered to look after them as his own and he did . Tommy grew up to be a fine young man but the death of his mother had changed him. He was so very close to his sister and loved her dearly but deep down inside he was a lonely lost soul .
