My father was in one of the decoy corvettes, at Omaha beach. Does anyone recall him. His name was Albert Mark Charnock. He was one of the more senior crew, he would have been in his 40's at that time. He was in the bowels of the ship, steering, and aparently did 3 turns of duty before retiring. The Captain asked for him to carry on because of his seniorority and experience. He survived the war, but sadly died in 1953 aged 50.
