We were stationed at Oxted, Surrey on D.Day, a few days later we were told to pack up but not told where we were going, when we arrived at Tilbury docks we knew our destination.
On landing on the beaches we were being harassed by enemy planes but lucky we escaped injuries.
On advancing, we bombarded Caen for two days, later on, all our guns were lined up, ready the Rhine crossing, after that, things move on so quickly we advanced through Belgium, Holland into Germany before we had time to settle in one position.
