I can't remeber very much, but our London house was bombed when I was little, aged 8.
The whole roof was blown off and luckily we were all downstairs - otherwise we would have been killed.

I was evacuated to Leicester and we stayed with a lady who had a 1 year old son.
She looked after him very well - but she was quite unkind to us and gave us burned food for breakfast

She was very very houseproud and we 'cluttered the place up ' so after breakfast we were sent out of the house and not allowed back until teatime
