It was night and I was a young girl, probably about seven or eight. The air-raid sirens had sounded and my mother, auntie and I had rushed into the air-raid shelter.
We all settled on our bunk beds when suddenly my auntie started screaming really loudly. I looked up and saw in the dim light a huge spider dangling just above her head.
I remember laughing at my auntie who was petrified of spiders frantically flapping her arms trying to get it away from her. My mother was laughing as well but moved the spider out the shelter.
My auntie did not sleep at all that night because she was sure that the spider was going to return!
