A trip to Bridlington

on a weeks holiday to Bridlington we used to go down to the beach and look at the barbed wire, not only did this stop the enemy getting to us but it stopped us getting onto the beach!
One morning we tried to get to the harbour to have a drink but the area was cordend off by troops. There was a fishing boat in the harbour surrounded by troops, we saw them march off, taking prisoners with them to soem lorries, the prisoners here loaded into the lorries and driven off.
