The first bomb of WW2 fell at the end of our street, after the shock of it all we got back on with life. The shed which was hit was made a great tourist attraction, the man of the house would bring people to the house to show them the site and the wife would sell tea.

As a young lad I can remember going into the smallest of gaps in newly bombed houses and finding toys which I would take and go to bed with.

What a great time we had!
