Wind and water hailed down from the sky as the 7th regiment trudged through dense mud on the way to try and capture the evil Hitler. Their blood boiled at the thought of this evil figure, who had destroyed so many innocent lives and had caused nations to attack each other for causes which should and could have been easily resolved in a court of justice. Yet a greed for power and a cruel childhood led to a bloodthirsty villain being able to discriminate against Jews. He locked them in captivity, tortured and killed them. A weak prime minister allowed a corrupt mind to take countries as he pleased. It was only when Chamberlain was pushed too far, when Hitler invaded Poland, that Chamberlain took charge he made Hitler sign a peace treaty however as we know to this day that did nothing but provoke the power hungry German. Not able to handle the pressure Chamberlain resigned leaving an empty void in the British government. This place was quickly filled by a more than capable Winston Churchill. He declared war and a state of emergency was announced.
As war began many men were slain fighting for a cause they believed in or was forced to believe in. The war effort began and many metal fences were removed and recycled to make bombs or planes. Anderson shelters were erected in every garden across the nation. Policemen paced streets looking for suspicion. Posters were placed on street corners and lampposts informing people of the news and what they could do to help. Men were told to go and fight for their country as it needs you. Women were told to help in factories and a variety of other tasks to help contribute to the war effort. Many thought this war would only last a year or so as Hitler was alone in his conquest, however they turned out to be very wrong.
