It so happened that I lived in Winston Churchill's parliamentary constituency
and had the honour of being at the ceremony of conferring the Freedom of the Borough on him, I representing the Air Training Corps. This was in 1945. I was later able to take a photograph of him passing my house (after repairs)
during his tour of our district, accompanied by his wife.
