Every friday morning during the war I used to join a que outside Sears the Butchers shop who was notid for their home-made sausages . All the people we met in the sausage que became friendly and every week one person would bring the Beds Times with her to read in the que. The paper would be passed up the que for everyone to read while we were waiting for the shop to open.
I made many friends in the que whom I still see today and we often talk about old times. Even now I still introduce Kirstine as 'the friend I made in the sausage que outside Sears'.
