At the beginning of the war I wanted to work at Aycliffe munitions but instead i was sent to a small munitions factory in chorley. i worked in different things like tnt boxes and i got moved around doing different things like deninators. i was released after a while on medical ground because the gun powder was affecting me. After this i joined the NAFFI. I did counter work in the kiosk and i stayed there for a couple of years and then i was asked if i wanted to do a special job. they had just started to make a new gun and they asked me to be a governement inspector.i went around the factories and took the guns together and put them back together again. i did this for a couple years. we finished that job at the ICI then we moved up to Newcastle for inspection up there. I came back home and then went back to the NAFFI at CAtterrick and i helped the manageress and general shop work. While i was here i met my Husband. he was in the royal signals. I met him at the camp where we were both. When the war finished i came back home to Norton near Stockton and i got married to my husband when he was debombed a while after the war.
