During an air-raid we were all in the cellar my Mother, my Sister and myself and my Sister would insist on making sausage sandwiches for everyone, she used to leave my mom and myself and go back up to our kitchen always with a vegetable colander on her head, as if that would save her.
During an air-raid they bombed Holloway Head, it was an inferno, we all had to evacuate to the hanger shelter in Broad Street. My Uncle came to the shelter and took us to the Lady Mayoress鈥檚 shelter also in Broad Street. Every single night we were in the shelter we had to take our bundles with us.
