The wireless was our only means of enterainment. We used to listen to Paul Temple, Dick Barton and Saturday Night Theatre.
While we were listening to the radio, four of us would sit 'pegging rugs'.
To peg rugs the materials used were old clothes cut into strips and threaded with a hook onto canvas.
