I was born in 1942 and my father was training men in Ireland that year so my parents were stationed to Ireland. They didn鈥檛 want me to be born with an Irish passport so we went back to Liverpool so I could be born and then after about a year we returned to Ireland.
I was very lucky as I had a good start in life. I have very good bones and teeth (I still have all my own teeth). One of the reasons is we had a lot of fresh milk and vegetables from living on a farm which of course a lot of children didn鈥檛 have. We left Ireland in around 1943 and we went back to Liverpool. I think we lived with our grandparents. I can鈥檛 remember any of this but its information that鈥檚 been passed to me over the years. I think my mother enjoyed Ireland because it was free. It wasn鈥檛 bombed but of course you can鈥檛 say that about Liverpool as it was heavily bombed.
