Charles William Ingle fought in WW1 and got shot and a medal. He survived this to work for Trinity house docks East London, who sent him all over in his job as Lighterman.

In WW2 one Christmas day, he was taking Christmas Trees out to the Navy ships in Gt Yarmouth, Norfolk - when the bombing started. He survived this but he lost many friends and some relations to the water.

My family have always said he did not like the Germans because they got him twice!!!!
