My father has written and had published last month, (October 2003) his war memoirs. The following is the 'blurb' on the cover. I enter it here to give others the oportunity of finding out more, but I don't understand exactly how this site works and how people can contact me? I have already entered this somewhere else on the site but I can find it now!!

Take Mary to the Pictures.
A fighter Pilot in Burma 1941-1945.

January 1942; a squadron of Hurricanes fly from Egypt to Rangoon to reinforce the defence of Burma; in 6 weeks they had been shot out of the sky and Burma has been overrun. There follows three and a half years of fighting a ruthless enemy before Burma is re-gained and Japan surrenders.

The author was there from the start and tells of the bravery and determination to fight back and win of those with whom he flew. No punches are pulled in making reference to those who endangered their colleagues with low standards of performance and leadership. Descriptions of the many types of operational missions flown, and the hazards faced by inexperienced pilots operating from jungle strips in monsoon weather with no navigation aids, adds colour to what is an authentic story of courage and adventure.
