This is Sandra Cooper's story - it has been added by a Volunteer from Crawley 19th Sqdn ATC, with permission from the author, who understands the terms and conditions of adding her story to the website.

My uncle - Percy Owen Hay - has his name on Brighton鈥檚 War Memorial. Percy was killed a few months before the end of the war on September 9th. My mum had to take the telegraph to my Nan. My mum used to visit his memorial and usually puts a cross or flowers there. I later had to take over.
