I was evacuated to Hanslope, when I was 8 years old.
I travelled with two cousins and a girl cousin and I were put together when we arrived and the boy went to a farm. I went to a family which i disliked. I didn't like being away from home and the family were not very kind to us.
If we were sent a parcel, it would be taken away from us. I wished that we could have eaten all the chocolate that was sent, but it had to be shared around.
We were there for 6 weeks, and my parents were evacuated because my father was disabled. My couzins mother also went too.
They were split up on the night of the coventry bombing.
As children we didn't know where our parents were but eventually everyone was re-united.
We finished up in a country cottage in Irthling Borough, in North Hants. We stayed there for 7 years. I hated returning to my home because i was a teenager and had lost touch with all of my friends. I missed my country friends, and being able to go out in the fields and ride my bike, but my parents wanted to go back to London, so we had to go.
