I was twelve years old when the war broke out, and for me it was a really exiting time.

We had to put up with rations but generally we had a good lifestyle.

I was lucky enoghf to go to Sir Thomas Riches, and I was leaving at the age of 17 to join the RAF when war ended.

The one thing that I can remember was all the barage balloons going up all over the city, that sight will stay with me forever.
