This story was submitted to the People鈥檚 War website by Kathy Tutt, a volunteer from 大象传媒 Kent, on behalf of Mr Frank Tuck and has been added to the website with his permission and he fully understand the site鈥檚 terms and conditions.

Mr Tuck鈥檚 recollections of the war start around 1944. He was born in 1940 and does not remember the area. His childhood memories include his parents running a fish and chip shop. They had a special indoor Anderson shelter in the front room and eight people slept in it. He also remembers having a child鈥檚 pop gun with which he pretended to shoot down doodlebugs (flying bombs).

This story was told during story gathering at Tonbridge Library
