After the war I met my husband in 1947 and he lived with his mother minutes away from the ICI factory. They never had an Anderson Shelter and his mum used to go in a cubby hole under the stairs and was never frightened. My husband spent many many nights putting out incendiary bombs. Guess they were intended for the ICI ammunition factory.
