A trainload of evacuees came to Middlewich Town Hall. My grandparents went there to see if there was any children they could take in. There were 3 coloured children, and my grandparents decided to choose them. Their parents visited on the odd occasion, and after the war they went back to LIverpool to their parents. They had been with my grandparents for nearly 3 years.
