I went to a wedding of a land girl who was working for the Duke of Kent and the Duchess (Princess Marena) and her two children were all at the wedding. When the couple came out the church i stood next to them. I was amazed to see the make-up on the Duchess - you could have scraped it off with a knife. Princess Alexandra was quite small (about 4 or 5) and kept jumping up and down with excitement and running around.
The two princesses (now one a queen) used to come down the watchef road on a friday afternoon at a certain time in the chauffer driven car. At that same time mostly i was on this road to go to another part of the farm. The road was always deverted and we used to wave to one another.
