This story was submitted to the peoples war site by Wendy Young and has been added to the web site on behalf of John Marsh with his permission and he fully understands the sites terms and conditions While we were in France a Doodlebug came over and went towards the German lines, we all cheered and clapped our hands. When it reached the Germans they tried to shoot it down.
One of our planes had tipped the wings which had upset the mechanism and turned it around.
When I was in Eindhoven I was in a cinema, when a Doodlebug came over and landed about two miles away. When it exploded the building shook.
All the civilians in the cinema panicked, screaming, jumping over the seats trying to get out, pushing eachother out of the way and blocking the doors. I've never seen people panic so much. We were so surprised.
