I was five years old when the war started. My father and I spent all day planting onions. That evening during an air raid, an incendiary bomb fell, blowing up all the onions we had spent all day planting. The next day dad said 鈥淭he Gerrys may of got our onions but they didn鈥檛 get us!鈥
