Mrs Hurst鈥檚 memories
A friend of mine told me, who is 100 years old now, his brother was killed in ww1 and he was only 18. When he died he was wrapped up in a blanket and the military sent his mother a bill for the blanket he was wrapped up in.
I remember always having to take gas masks to school. I can only remember the noises of the air raids but not much as I was only 5 when the war ended. Although I remember the VE day.
Mr Hurst鈥檚 memories
I remember the victory parade and watching the tanks coming through the streets.
