At about quater to nine whilst i was at work an air raid siren sounded and simultaneously a V1 flew over head. I myself was on the 7th floor of a building owned by the GPO, namely Waterloo bridge house. Whilst the air raid siren was sounding the engine of the V1 cut out. One of the officers in the office grabbed me and propelled me out of the office and into the corridor. I found myself sheltering on the opposite side of the corridor with the officer beside me. The V1 dropped close by the white steps of Waterloo station. Every morning at around nine o'clock on both sides of the road near waterloo station there were very long queues of passengers waiting to bored buses at 4 bus stops. The blast from the V1 took the roof off one bus and the top deck of another bus aswell as blowing the glass out of several shops. Needless to say from then on i was frightened of the V1s. I was only 16 at the time.
