I was three when the war started. I was living in the Welsh valleys, we only had one bombing raid; the Germans thought they were going for Cardiff. The only damage was inflicted upon a library. I鈥檝e seen 60 commemorative weekends. I think the interest in WW2 is going now, people don鈥檛 understand.
My friend; Frankie Able in Seacombe, went to school one morning and in the afternoon was told don鈥檛 go home for dinner, you haven鈥檛 got a house.
Someone I know lives in the only house which was bombed in Wallasey Village, it was sliced diagonally.
