My name is Grace Meehan of Marden High School and I am entering this story on behalf of Brenda Copeland. Who fully agree to the terms and conditions of the website.

It was nearly always at night-time when the air-raid sirens went off. I was seven when the war started. My mother had always put us to bed after we played with our wooden toys and sometimes our balls or in the street. When the sirens when off we had to run into the back yard and down the ally, as we had no shelter and a neighbour shared theirs with my family. As we ran down the ally, it was very scary, as we knew that they were going to drop a bomb near us somewhere, it also felt like they we watching us!
