When I was about 2 or 3 years of age we lived in West Drayton, Middlesex, nr. an RAF Station. I can remember when there was an air raid my mother had to carry me to the air raid shelter - even now the noise of the heavy aircraft or loud noises hurt me.
My auntie was married to a Cornishman and they lived in Gwinear, during the war I was evacuated down to Cornwall to live with them.
My Dad died during the War and my Mother had to work in a Power Plant in West Drayton - she sorted out her life in 1944 and then moved to Cornwall and set up home.
Later I married a Cornishman and have been here ever since.
