We went into shelters and when the bombs went off everyone huddled together. Some people cried and some prayed. We were all very afraid. My Mother gathered her family together, except for my two brothers who refused to come. On one particular occasion when the all clear had been given we came out to find my two brothers covered from head to toe in black ash. They said the house had shook.
