I was in charge of a party of 20 odd girls going to the Taj Mahal. We took a 16 hour short journey on an Indian train. We sat with the Indians and made friends with them. When we got to Agra they weren鈥檛 prepared for us, so we all slept in the sick bay at the camp here. I was in the doctor鈥檚 office with two corporals and there was a skeleton in one corner of the office. In the early hours of the morning two happy drunks tried to break in and we got all the girls out of bed in the sick bay into the office, got 鈥淐harlie鈥 dressed in a WAF uniform, stuck a lit cigarette in his mouth, pulled the bay window open and as we pushed Charlie through everybody screamed as loudly as they could. There were about seven or eight drunken airmen by this time. Happy drunks, you know. We all screamed as loud as we could and they just fled! We never saw them again.
