I remember that you鈥檇 get sugar once a month and if you went through that you鈥檇 have to make do with saccharin鈥檚, you鈥檇 get an egg each, tinned stuff and fruit was more or less a luxury. Meat was scarce and you couldn鈥檛 buy a lot of sweet stuff.
