Food was not very good in the hospital. We would have a lot of Pease Pudding 鈥 a kind of mush made of split peas. The maid had put the pease pudding on to cook and I went out into the kitchen to serve the meal. I put the pudding onto the plates and what I thought was the gravy into a gravyboat and served this to my patient. Afterwards the maid asked 鈥淲ho has taken my cocoa?鈥 I had served the cocoa with the pease pudding 鈥 it must have tasted horrible! However the man asked for second helpings so it couldn鈥檛 have been so bad.
