This is extra information on my earlier story about cousin John.
He was probably born in 1924, not 1922, as first mentioned.
His number was 159397 (Volunteer Reserve).
After training moved to 178 Squadron at Hosc Raui, in Libya. Then to Italy, to an airfield at Amendola.
21st August to attack the Herman Goering Nibelungen works at St Valentin, near Linz, Austria. The liberator bomber piloted by cousin John was No. 938 and was blown up 3 hours and 5 minutes after take off and came down near the little town of Mitterkirchen, Austria.
