Emma comes from a Gypsy Traveller family and has been living on the West Meadows Traveller site in Ipswich since 1995.

I was a child when the war broke out. What I really remember is the rationing.

There were ten of us children and my Mother had to make do. But she really struggled.

Meat was rationed so we had to go out and get a rabbit for the pot.

My sisters and me used to catch rabbits with our dog Spider by trapping them in the grass tufts.

Then we鈥檇 gut them and skin them and my Mother would make a rabbit pudding in the boiler with a crust on it.
