One night during an air raid we were in a shelter in the garden, bombs were falling and the aircraft guns were shooting. There was a massive explosion and we thought that was our house that had been hit! However when the all clear sounded we came out of the shelter and found that the house was ok except for the broken windows. We when discovered that the explosion we had heard had been a bomb falling on the local dairy. Sadly there was one casualty the milk mans horse!
