After we had lost many men-our friends and comrades reinforcements were sent out, Harry Pope was one such man on the third day I had a radio trapped to my and Harry was behind me working it.
The Germans mortar bombed us and Harry was caught in the blast and severely wounded.
Harry died the next day on his 21st birthday.
