1) Went to Town Lane Infant School in 1942 - 1947. collected and fitted with gas masks from corrugated buildings near the swing area in High Bebington park.
2) Memories evacuating school to shelters in school playing fields
3) Land- mines demolishing pair of semi- houses in Town Lane near school
4) Bomb hit house corner Heyville and Holmville Road
5) Walking with father from James Street low level up subway to Water Street people sleeping out on one side of the subway passage.
6) Army billeted with vehicles under trees in Levers Causeway.
7) Americans billeted with anyone who had a spare room in Asterfield Avenue and areas.
8) Broken and damaged army lorries stored in Storeton Woods and left there until 1948 a great area for lads to play.
9) Queuing at greengrocers each week for rations.
10) My maternal grandparents lived in Sheffield and went over by train a few times a year remember watching V1 doodle bugs landing the other side of the valley.
