My memories of the war was I left at Wallsend station for evacuation and it was so confusing with all the children and mothers crying. When we got on the train we went to a small pit village near Ashington call Linton Colliery. I was very happy there as I came from a big family and never had much clothes and toys were concerned so I was spoiled. I was also evacuated at a village called Walton. I still visted the village we were there this summer, tok my grandchildren and they loved the stories. I was telling them this village was outside of Brampton. I came home for a week but the first night I was home the Good Station was bombed and went straight back the next morning.
