Mr Kitchen was in the airforce who decided to make him an instructor, he was then an instructor at the airforce for 8 years. Mr Kitchen saw very little during the war as he spent most of his time in various countries. He received many medals. Some for serving so long in the airforce and some for defence and some just for being involved. He was 21 when the war started but had been in the airforce since he was 18. After the war Mr Kitchen then served in the airforce for a futher 37 years, then retired. Mr Kitchen said 'I served for those extra years longer because I would get alot more pension.'
